Well we were outdone again by the grandparents for Tanner's birthday. Tanner had been eyeing/begging for this popcorn popping machine at Costco, so I had this fabulous idea that we would get it for him. The only problem was every time I was at Costco, so was Tanner. The kid rarely stays home when I go to the store, and I usually don't have a problem with that, UNLESS I'm trying to pick up surprises (ha, ha).
Anyways, two days before Tanner's birthday I went down to Costco to pick up his glorious popcorn machine, and no joke the entire pallet full was gone. Not one popcorn machine around, NADA! This pallet full of popcorn machines had disappeared within three days of me last seeing them. I began to panic, I didn't have a backup plan. Well to make a long story short, after calling around we found one. Picked it up, picked up the popcorn, the butter and popcorn bags. We were so excited, we knew that Tanner would be so excited, and he was…UNTIL my mom and dad showed up with this black garbage bag full of newspaper, followed by this…

Yep, once again, we were outdone by the grandparents, AGAIN! No big deal, but we just laugh about it because he can beg for something and no matter what, whatever the grandparents (Aaron's or mine) give them it's ALWAYS going to be better than your own gift (ha, ha). So hopefully when he's 16… just kidding! Each grandson that turns 8, gets a BB gun from my mom and dad. So Tanner was pretty stoked when he got his, because he knows how much I don't like guns, but I know that turning 8 is exciting and I knew that this has been something he has been looking forward to. Anyways he has had so much fun with this Red Ryder BB gun. Tanner and Brenner have been out of school for Spring Break and everyday they are out in the garage shooting old Christmas lights. Good times! Yes, we have gone over the rules of guns with these boys, so please don't think we're ignorant with guns. Promise, we wont shoot our eye out!
Tanner had a fabulous birthday, he got some awesome birthday wishes, and what was even better is he got a week off of school for his birthday. Nothing can beat that (ha, ha). Now we're off to planning a baptism. Good times!
